Jonathan Worsley

Chairman & CEO
The Bench

Meet Jonathan: At the age of 10, life started early for Worsley as a budding entrepreneur selling eggs and everything else at the top of the drive at the family farm in Canada.

Fast forward to 1982 he was developing computer programmes on one of the first Compaq computers weighing 13 kilos with only 10 MB of disk space. In the 90’s he tried his luck launching a personal calendar company that was a spectacular failure and an enormous relief to his wife Laura whilst raising four children.

But that didn’t stop him from venturing into hotel investment conferences in Europe and launching the much-needed Daily Benchmarking company. This time, his perseverance paid off!

Now he finds it hard not to stay involved in the Bench, the business he loves but even more satisfying is the team around him that keep pushing the envelope and innovating. He loves travelling and trying new things and highlights include skiing with his son Ollie in Iran, playing cricket with his son Hugo and colleague Matt at the top of Kilimanjaro and bowling out South Africa’s cricketing hero Makhaya Ntini (a complete fluke but amusing banter), jumping out of planes, cycling with Ali in Dubai, going on family holidays and recently exploring India with Laura.

Curious, adventurous, and passionate about bringing the industry together for over 25 years.
