Going Ape in Valencia

Since 2013, Jon Howell, CEO of AviaDev has undertaken multiple activities to raise funds for Gorilla Conservation. He was appointed a global ambassador for the charity in 2016.

These activities include participating in the great gorilla run around the streets of London; the Manchester 10k and climbing the 3 highest mountains in the UK in a full gorilla suit.

Valencia is home to a family of gorillas and presented the perfect opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the amazing work the Gorilla Organization undertakes on a daily basis.

It was a hot day for a half marathon in a gorilla suit and the temperature reached 23 degrees Celsius. Jon benefited from the moral support of AviaDev Europe MD, Juraj Toth and the host of AviaDev Europe 2018 and 2019, Miguel Angel Perez.

The activity raised over £1,000 in donations and this money will be reinvested in projects in Africa directly contributing to the conservation of our hairy cousins.

Gorillas are among our closest living relatives yet they are at a risk of extinction. Small acts of support can make a big difference!
